Every one of us has our own inner voice that speaks to us during the day. It’s a dialogue that plays on a continuous loop inside our heads. Most of us are completely unaware that it is there, but psychologists say it controls our moods and affects events in our lives. If your inner voice is full of fear and doubt, it can negatively impact your life.
Affirmations are a powerful vehicle that can modify your life course for the better. If you spent a day really focusing on the thoughts you have inside your head, you would be shocked at the level of negativity. Researchers suggest that almost 80 percent of our thoughts are negative. The harm, well if you think negative about yourself, believe you are going to fail, expect the bad side of situations, then your subconscious may steer you in that outcome. So if you spend the day telling yourself that you are not good enough or pretty enough or smart enough, your subconscious will accept it as reality.
Affirmations are positive comments that you use to create positive mood. Repeating affirmations over and over again, can actually change your mindset. So while your conscious mind repeats the affirmations, your subconscious records them with small changes to your mood. Through the use of affirmations you can train your mind and your attitude to positively affect your attitude, behavior and beliefs. These affirmations have the potential to impact the outcome of events in your life.
To receive the full benefit of positive affirmations, you should repeat them often throughout the day. I like to keep an index card with 3-5 affirmations written, so I can reference and repeat them frequently.
Below are a few of my personal affirmations, you can use these or I would suggest you create your own to reflect what you want to positively reinforce in your life.
I am POWERFUL.
I am filled with ENERGY.
I am LOVED.
I have abundant JOY.
I LOVE myself and my body.
I am SUCCESSFUL.
I am STRONG and in good health.
I am GRATEFUL for my friends and family.
If you try affirmations and stay committed to using daily affirmations you can reprogram your thoughts and your life in a positive way.
