LOS ANGELES — Social porn “pin-boarding” site Snatchly.com, has signed up more than 15,000 users and logged 100,000 unique visitors since its debut in February.
According to VentureBeat, the Pinterest imitator that targets men has been on a meteoric rise, and now the site’s two Los Angeles-based founders are trying to figure out how to make money.
Like Pinterest (used mostly by women), users post and share photos, but Snatchly’s idea was to attract men with hardcore and softcore porn instead of general men’s interests.
“We didn’t think masculine colors and manly categories like ‘cars,’ ‘gadgets,’ and ‘cigars’ would be enough, so we went with pastel colors and porn,” said co-founder Neil Notts (a pseudonym).
And there’s more ahead for the start-up. Notts said his company is considering linking to affiliate programs like Skimlinks, that’s used by Pinterest. “We’re also exploring the idea of sponsored snatches, boards, or even sections,” he said.
Video “snatches," — the site's version of “pins” — from a variety of sources are also being implemented, that by next week will let users see embedded Flash and HTML5 clips from sites like PornHub, YouTube, XVideos, YouPorn, RedTube, Tube8, Beeg, XHamster, Spankwire, BigStar, and more.
Although it lagged behind Pornterest (another porn pin-board) in the marketplace, Snatchly’s more explicit stance gives it an edge.  And as VentureBeat pointed out, a new user-friendly Facebook and Google-like “lightbox” feature lets viewers quickly cycle through large photos.
